As a kid I found Sunday morning television be be just as entertaining as Saturday morning cartoons in the late 1960’s and 70’s. Before my summers were spent strapped in the front seat of the family sedan dragging a travel trailer around the country and then waking up in a NJ campground on weekends I found myself regularly tuning in to see Davey and Goliath. My family was not very religious at all but I was able to pick up on the religious stories and theme that made the stop animation show interesting. I mean beyond the two main characters being relatable to a young child and Goliath was a cute talking dog. Winner! I am not a faithful man however I do identify with Christian values in general and I do enjoy readings from the bible and sermons on the rare occasions I attend a church service.
